Mamelons are the small rounded bumps often seen on the edges of newly erupted front teeth. They are completely normal and are made of enamel, just like the rest of the tooth. In most people, these bumps wear down naturally over time through chewing and normal tooth contact. However, some adults may still have mamelons due to bite alignment issues or limited tooth wear. While harmless, they can be smoothed with cosmetic contouring if desired.
