The IPL 2025 mega auction began with excitement on Day 1. Rishabh Pant was the biggest star, sold to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for ₹27 crore. In total, ₹467.95 crore was spent on 72 players. Shreyas Iyer joined Punjab Kings (PBKS) for ₹26.75 crore, while Venkatesh Iyer was bought back by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for ₹23.75 crore. Indian bowlers were in demand too. Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal both went to PBKS for ₹18 crore each. However, 12 players were not picked.
