The Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022 officially kicks off on November 21, while England looks set to appear from a group made up of Wales, Iran and the United States. Gareth Southgate will become the second-highest paid manager at this year's World Cup 2022 as he tries to end a 56-year-old injury with the Qatar Three Lions this winter. Southgate, who led England to their first European Cup final last summer, is not only paid more than Italian coach Roberto Mancini, who beat him in the final, but also France's World Cup-winning coach Didier Deschamps too. Southgate's six-year incantation as England national team manager reached its first major hurdle last month after the Three Lions' 4-0 defeat to Hungary - ending a miserable four-game run with his side in just two points in four National League games. For the first time since his appointment in 2016, there is real confidence behind many of the calls for his sacking, despite the FA making it clear that Southgate still has their full support.
