The USA men's national team will travel to Qatar in November for the FIFA World Cup 2022, four years after failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. In 92 years, the United States has not won the Men's World Cup. In fact, the United States' greatest advancement in the event was the semifinals at the inaugural World Cup in 1930. Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley, and Tim Howard are replaced by an exciting young core led by Christian Pulisic. The USA now has arguably the most talented roster in American history, including Tyler Adams, Brendon Aronson, Sergino Dest, Weston McKennie, Gio Reyna, Tim Weah, and Antonee Robinson. But if the US is to give Cinderella a shot at the World Championships, they must first pass the group stage. This includes tight matches against England, Wales and Iran in Group B. Interestingly, sportsbooks think it is easier for the US to reach the World Cup quarter-finals (+450) than it is to overtake England in the group stage (+600). At this point, USMNT defeated Wales to become the second team in Group B to advance to the second round (+110), with most sportsbooks listing each team as a tie. The two countries will meet on the opening day of the Group B match on November 21, with the United States (+155) currently expected to beat Gareth Bale and Wales (+190) by a +205 odds draw.
