You never have to worry about someone else discovering a terrible secret that is causing you great difficulty. You are free to discuss it. Additionally, it is part of a therapist's work to be nonjudgmental. Not only will they not reveal your secrets to others, but they will not regard you as silly, stupid, or nasty for revealing whatever it is. It makes no difference; in fact, they've probably heard some of the worst secrets ever told, so yours is unlikely to be shocking or upsetting.
